Instead of hiring an unqualified, uninsured and perhaps un-queer friendly person to take care of your smaller projects, use our Butch For Hire service! You can hire us for small tasks around the house, yard or office.

We do the Butch for Hire work on an time basis. Depending on the type of work, we may require you to use 2 or more butches. Generally speaking the jobs that fall under our Butch for Hire division are at maximum a day of work. Some longer jobs might be able to be done here as well.

We no longer offer single hour services - we were losing our butts on the drive time. Our minimum amount of time you can book for is 3 hours. Our drive time is not included in that 3 hours, unless we have to travel more than 20 miles from our office at 3008 1st Avenue Richmond, VA.

We do lighter work such as cleaning, organizing, hanging things on walls, blinds and curtain installation. We do these tasks at $70 an hour per butch not including materials if they are needed (like hardware for hanging white boards for instance).

We also do more burly tasks like moving items, junk hauling, small trim or carpentry work, door installation, storm door installation, painting, landscaping, yard work, furniture assembly, and gutter cleaning. We do these at $80 an hour per butch not including materials, plus a $25 admin fee so $265 for 2 butches for 3 hours and $80 an hour after that.

Generally for these jobs the client is providing the material, like already has the blinds or string lights or storm door on hand and we show up with our tools and knowledge to get it taken care of and off of your mind.

We charge a $25 administrative fee on top of the per hour/ per butch rates for each job. If the rates are too high and you really need something done, please send us an email, we are willing to offer sliding scale when needed and when we can afford to.

The point of butch for hire is to have lgbtq friendly folks available to do these tasks for you, so the anxiety of having a potentially homophobic or transphobic jerkoff in your personal space can be avoided. We are here to make folks feel comfortable and keep them safe. The crew members we send might not all be ‘butches’, because insisting on that would a) likely be a violation of labor laws and b) not always be the right person or persons from our crew for the job. The other benefit of our Butch for Hire services is that even though these may be small tasks that we do, they are done with our knowledge of correct building practices, extensive experience about so many types of construction, and under our license and insurance by our employees on payroll. This means you are getting a more reliable and correct completion of the tasks, and you are covered. We see a lot of bad fixes from ‘handymen’, and there are too many who just aren’t doing the right things the right ways.

To book a Butch for Hire, fill out our form. We have shifted our model as the automated scheduling one was not consistent and we don’t want to take your money before we know if we want to or can do the odd jobs that you want or when you want. The more details the better, then we will give you an estimated amount of hours and butches, and send an invoice for a 50% deposit plus the $25 admin fee to reserve the time slot you want.

Again- the hourly rate depends on the nature of the tasks, and there is a $25 admin fee as well.

Materials, rental trucks, and dumpsters are not included in our pricing. If we need to provide any of those, let us know. They will also be added to your invoice in addition to the hours/butches and admin costs.
